Question: How would you compare the thoughts of DuBois and Washington? Do you agree with one more than the other?
As always, if you have any questions, just let me know!
Have a great night,
Mrs. Livingood
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois both were focused on educating African-Americans. The difference is Booker T. Washington cared about educating them so they could get a job and make money. W.E.B Du Bois wants to help the African-Americans get ahead in life; he wants to educate them so they can have the skills to get through life happily. I agree with W.E.B Du bois because like him I believe there is much more to life than earning money.

Both Du Bois and Washington talk about helping African Americans with education, life skills, and becoming involved in our society. They also both talk about making the African American society a better place.
ReplyDeleteThe one I agreed with the most was W.E.B. Du Bois's thoughts because he talked about not only African Americans education, but how they fit into our society with their jobs, and personalities. One of his thoughts I liked most was when he talked about how African Americans received a good education to earn money and help others receive a good education.
W.E.B Du Bois and Booker T. Washington both talk about African Americans, but also talk about different ways to help. For example, Du Bois talks about the slave's education and Washington talked what the students learned to make and build at the Tuskegee Institute.
ReplyDeleteI agree with W.E.B Dubois because he talked about how they will fit into life. Another thing he mentioned was how the African Americans were educated.
I think that Booker T.Washington and W.E.B Du Bois thoughts were different but also very similar because They were both helping African and Americans and educating them so they can live there life after slavery.I think that there different because Booker T. Washington thoughts were to help the African Americans with life by educating them in schools so they work hard and get a job so they would feel like they have a purpose and W.E.B Du Boise's thoughts were to help them by showing them there talents and teaching them skills that would help them in life and make them successful.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of Booker T.Washington and W.E.B Du Bois thoughts because i think that both of there thoughts are mostly the similar because they were both helping the African Americans get skills so they can get a job and get through life happily .
Brooker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois were both African-Americans. They both had great minds and spoke words of wisdom. They both were succesful in life. They both had the same view of succesion in life. But these great minds had differnet opions about life. They had the same thought but different ideas.
ReplyDeleteBrooker T. Washington focused on that life is about work, money, and a great education. W.E.B. Du Bois belives that life is worth more than money, work, or anything else. I have confidence in W.E.B Du Bois than in Brooker T. Washington. Because W.E.B. Du Bois shoes that life is priceless and you have to live it in the fullest. I agree that education is good but life is worth more than cars or cash and you don't want to srew it up on you and others.
While Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois both wanted good things for the African American population,W.E.B.Du Bois had a better idea. The African Americans need to Know More then just how to perform daily labor. They also need knowlage of writing and reading. You can not communicate well if you only know how to work.Therfore I think W.E.B Du Bois was right on what the African American Americans need.By Dylan
ReplyDeleteBooker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois thoughts were very similar. Washington thought that African Americans should be part of society. He thought life was all about being rich and making sure you have enough food. Washington’s thought was true for some people but not for others. He was still a big help in rising of the African American society.
ReplyDeleteW.E.B Du Bois’s thought had one difference from Washington’s but it was a big difference. Du Bois thought that African Americans can be part of Society but also he thought of justice. The justice he was thinking of is that when an African American gets educated he should go back to the roots and remember when he wanted to make a difference and now, when he/she can, they should go back and make that difference. They both believed that the Africans American should stand up and show the whites that they can be better than them. Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois were both great leaders of the African Americans but I agree with Du Bois more.
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois had different opinions about how to teach African Americans. W.E.B Du Bois believed that African Americans should have training in trade skills and work to become better people. The most talented should become educated leaders who also work to become men and not just moneymakers. In contrast, Booker T. Washington wanted people to make money and become good in only one skill set.
ReplyDeleteToday, in society most people want to grow up and make a lot of money and have a big house consistent with Booker T. Washington’s belief. The person I agree with is W.E.B Du Bois. My reason is because he wanted us to help each other and evolve to become the best we can be through education. Even though it would be nice having lots of money, it is not for the greater good.
I think that W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington were very great thinkers, writers, and teachers. They each wanted to teach the masses of African-American minorities in the civil rights times. They each had different views about how and what those people should be taught about. Du Bois wanted people to learn at Universities, while Wasington want people to learn by experience. Booker T. wanted people to learn about how to get jobs and earn money to survive, and W.E.B. wanted the people to be taught more than just about jobs and money. I agree with with Du Bois more though, because I think that there is more to life then sucsess and profit. I think it's about helping others, about experiencing things, and about striving to be a better person. BY BRANDON!
