Question: Imagine thinks WWI was great. How would you try to show them it wasn't? What would you say? What examples would you use?

If someone thought WWI was great, I would knock some sense into them. I would remind them that the soldiers ate, slept, got cooties, and even went to the bathroom in the trenches. So many soldiers died in that war. None of it whatsoever was great. In fact, it was the opposite of great, it was horrible.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason WWI was horrible would be when the flamethrowers would burn the skin off of the soldiers who were in the trenches near no mans land. It was horrible how 1000s of people were gunned down when they were sent on missions. Some would step on mines and some would be scorched by flamethrowers. WWI was a extremely violent war.
If someone said to me, “World War One was great!” I would most likely say, “How was it great so many people died!” To help him realize that WW1 was not a great time I would tell him about the trenches and how bloody and horrible the war was. If that still does not convince him, I would show him videos or pictures from the war. I would tell him about how many families lost the ones they love. World War One was not a great war.

If someone thought that WW1 was great, to show them how awful it was I would tell them about the soldiers and weapons they used to kill people, and how they are illegal today. To also convince them, I would show them evidence of the horrors that took place during WW1, such as awful living conditions and horrible fighting techniques. Another bad thing about WW1 is how countries formed alliances, to take down other countries. WW1 would not be a good war to live through.
ReplyDeleteIf someone said that world war one was great I would try to show them that it wasn’t great because of how many people got killed and also show them the lifestyle that the soldiers had to go through for 4 years and how most of the soldiers got killed. I will tell them that it was a very dangerous war .I would also tell them about how many of them sacrificed their lives to fight in the war. An example I would give to help convince them is telling them about all the violent weapons and gases that were used to kill soldiers that were fighting in this war. The gases like mustard gas which could kill many people and how some of these weapons and gases that were used during World War 1 are now illegal because of how deadly they were. World War 1 was not a great at all .
ReplyDeleteIf someone said that World War One was great I would say "How is a war great?" I would show them that so many people died during world war one and the lifestyle soldiers went through. I would show them how soldiers had suffered through ditches that they lived in. They would eat there and fight there if they think that's easy wait until they hear this. Soldiers would be hit by mustard gas and also soldiers would have to sit, eat, and sleep in they're own waste. Now that is pretty gross.
ReplyDeleteIf they are still not convinced that more and more people seemed to die everyday fighting for there own country.I would show them how violent it got in war and especially how bloody it got. It was a dangerous zone and being in the middle of it was a scary thought. But what is really sad is that people over conflict and letting there own people go fight over what one person believes and what the other person believes. When they can settle they're problems without fighting. World War One was not great.
If someone was to tell me that World War One was great I would try to show him that it wasn’t great in anyway. I would tell him about the weapons that were used in the war and how some of them became illegal because of how powerful they are. Also I would tell him about the soldiers’ lives during the war. The soldiers had to go to the bathroom in the trenches; I would tell him where the soldiers had to sleep and what they had to eat. They even got cooties. It was so bad some of the soldiers did hand suicide to get out and all they had to do is put out their hand over the fence so its visible to see for the opposing side and if you get injured you get to go back home. Some soldiers had missions to go over no man’s land and just by the name you know its deadly, thousands of men died there. They would get scorched because of mines in no man’s lands and get flamed by the flamethrowers. At the end I would ask him if he could survive in that war for 4 years. I would ask him what he would do if a member of his family died or if he thought he was going to get back in Christmas and he didn’t, I would ask him what if you never come back to your family.
ReplyDeleteIf I heard someone say that WW1 was good in any way then I would think they were crazy, or messed up in the mind.
ReplyDeleteI mean sure, it solves some of the answers, but most of the time its not solving anything. Just like in WW1, it was a trench warfare and they were mostly getting nowhere. In trench warfare, when the generals told their men to attack, they would either 1) get killed by machinegun fire, or 2)artillery was firing and they just happened to get in the middle of it.
Anyways my point being, is that if i saw someone say that WW1 was good then I would say the exact words I just said above.
